When you begin the search for a financial advisor, you’re likely looking for answers and outcomes. The questions may be different, but the need is the same. You need to know how to achieve the best outcomes with the situation and factors you face. You need answers to questions like how, when, how much, and why. We’re committed to providing answers as fiduciaries, as financial experts, and as trusted professionals.
Personal financial planning is exactly that: very personal. We know the sacrifice, the commitment, the time, the effort, and the love you have put into your family’s financial future. We recognize the importance of the guidance we provide and what it means to you. We know you’re looking for someone you can trust to provide unbiased, factual, reliable answers that are always in your best interest.
You can tell a lot about someone by the values they hold and the principles by which they live and work. Our experiences have helped us form guiding principles that we apply when working with clients to meet their financial planning and investing needs.
Do the right thing for the client, every time. We are fiduciaries. By definition, that means we put our clients’ best interests first. Every time.
Be transparent. Straight-forward, honest, and direct. There’s no other way to do business. We take this approach in every aspect of our business, including our fee structure. We’re compensated for investment advice by fees, not commissions. When we help clients build a plan for the future, we charge a flat fee. Simple, concise, easy to understand.
Education is critical for success. How can you make good decisions if you don’t understand the facts? How can you be at peace with your financial plan and truly embrace it if you don’t know how it works? We’ll take as much time as is needed to make sure you really understand how your financial decisions impact your future.
Work with people you like and trust. We don’t work with just anyone. We work with people we like, people with whom we enjoy interacting, and people who want to build a relationship with us. Life is too short to work with people who don’t enrich your life.
Risk is real. Plan for it. Risk and return go hand in hand. We help clients invest based on their risk tolerance, rather than shooting for a particular rate of return. Why? Because risk tolerance is determined on an individual basis. If your portfolio doesn’t fit your risk tolerance, you’ll never stick to the plan and the result won’t be positive – emotionally or in terms of return.
Build relationships. We want to truly know the people we work with; their likes and dislikes, their values and preferences, their hopes and fears, their financial strengths and weaknesses. While working with clients over many years, we build mutual trust, respect, and friendships.
